Performing Arts Classes

Performing Arts classes were initiated at Marymount in 2001 to offer students a broad range of activities including, basic drama, improvisations, role play, character work, basic movement/dance, audition technique, film work and script writing.

Students have taken part in various festivals, eisteddfods and competitions with great results. I have also been able to introduce many of them to the world of film and some have auditioned for commericals, TV series and short films as well as meeting casting directors.

Many of the students choose this class to gain confidence and build social skills. Others take part purely for the love of performing.

All classes are held after school in the Doyle Centre Drama Room

The Teachers - Anna Waters-Massey and Cleo Massey

Anna trained as a Drama and English teacher and went on to a professional career in singing, voice over work and acting.  Her experience in musical theatre, film, TV and studios, coupled with her teaching qualifications prompted her to start teaching privately.

Anna's daughter Cleo Massey will also teach some of the classes.  She has a Diploma in Music and a wealth of experience in film/TV and live performances, including four years on the TV series 'H2O Just Add Water', supporting roles in two feature films 'The LIttle Things' and '18' as well as a number of other TV, short film, commercial appearances and live performances.
