Cultural & Media Arts

Cultural, Visual, and Media Arts in Years 3 and 4 provide students with rich opportunities to explore creatively, and cultural expression through hands-on learning. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum (Version 9.0), students engage with artworks and media from diverse times, places, and cultures - including First Nations Australians and countries across Asia.

They respond to and create visual and media artworks using a variety of materials, technologies, and techniques, developing their aesthetic awareness and critical thinking.

Through collaborative projects and individual exploration, students build confidence in expressing their ideas visually and digitally. They learn to communicate meaning through images, sound, and text, and reflect on how artworks can connect people and communities. These experiences nurture curiosity, cultural understanding, and creative problem-solving skills that support students' development as imaginative learners.
