At Marymount Primary School, we embrace technology as a vital tool for enhancing learning, creativity, and collaboration across all year levels. Our Information Technology program is designed to empower students with the skills and confidence to thrive in a digital world.
From Prep, students have access to iPads that support early learning through interactive apps, digital storytelling, and foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. These devices are integrated into classroom routines to foster engagement and exploration in a safe, supervised environment. Beginning in Year 3, we implement a 1:1 device program, ensuring that every student has their own iPad to support personalised learning, project-based tasks, and digital fluency. This initiative continues through until Year 6, allowing students to deepen their understanding of technology as a tool for research, communication, and creative expression.
Our approach is guided by contemporary frameworks such as the SAMR model, which encourages teachers to modify and redefine learning experiences through digital integration. Supported by professional development, our educators use a range of applications - including Teams, OneNote, iMovie, and Pages - to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments. We are committed to ensuring equitable access to technology, fostering digital citizenship, and preparing students for the future with confidence and curiosity.
