What does your school offer our child?

Marymount Primary School is a Catholic school catering to students from Prep to Year Six. The school’s population is approximately 1060 students.

As well as dedicated professional classroom teachers, we also employ three teachers in our Learning Enhancement Centre, two Guidance Counsellors, Speech Pathologist, two PE teachers, two Music teachers, one Drama teacher, one French/Cultural Arts teacher and two STEM teachers.

What are the school fees?

An outline of our Current School Fees and Levies can be found under the Enrolment Tab.

These fees are inclusive of all excursions. Direct Debit facility is available. Fees are paid at the commencement of each term. These fees may change so contact the school office for further information.

What is the procedure for enrolling my child?

You are required to complete the Online Application Enrolment Form which can be found under Enrolment Proceedures on this website.  All information regarding enrolment can be found under this tab also.

Does the school charge an enrolment fee/enrolment deposit?

Yes. There is a non refundable enrolment application fee of $50.00. If your child is accepted into the school we also ask for a non refundable $250 Confirmation of Enrolment Fee which is credited against the following year's first term school fees.

Can Non-Catholic children enrol?

Please refer to our enrolment guidelines found under the Enrolment Tab. The Principal makes the final decision regarding all matters of enrolment.

Is your school a private/independent school?

No. Marymount is a Catholic primary school and is one of approximately 140 schools run by the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

What are your class sizes?

This varies from class to class but most classes are between 25 - 30 students per class.

Are the children taught another language other than English?

Yes. French, in Years 5-6.

Does your school teach music?

Yes. We have two Music teachers which cover all classes from Prep through to Year 6.  We also have available at an extra cost, a school orchestral band and private tuition in Guitar, Keyboard, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.  Please refer to our Beyond the Classroom tab for further information.

What is your school uniform like?

The students have a compulsory dress uniform and sports uniform. Details of the uniform can be found under the Enrolment Tab - Uniform Shop.

Do you have a Prep Year?

Yes.  It is compulsory for Queensland students to undertake Prep prior to Year 1.  The children attend full-time, 5 days per week.

Do you have before and after school care?

Yes, the Marymount Outside School Hours Care is run by the Burleigh Catholic Parish but is on school grounds.  Before school care - 7:00am to 8:30am. Afternoon school care - 3.00pm – 6:00pm. Bookings can be made by phoning 5576 3756. We also have vacation care - 7:00am – 6:00pm.  For further information please refer to the OSHC tab under Parents on our website.

Do you take overseas students?

Please contact the school office for eligibility.

Do you have a support teacher?

Yes. The school has two Support Teachers:Inclusive Education (ST:IE) and one Targetted Support Teacher.  They work in conjunction with the classroom teachers to assist in the holistic development of your child.

Does your school offer any extra curricula activities?

Yes. Art, Chess, School Band, After School Swimming, AFL Auskick, Gymnastics, Cricket and Soccer.  These classes are provided by external service providers and are not included in the school fees.

How much religion is taught within the curriculum?

Religion is taught both as a Key Learning Area and as an integral component of all school activities. The direct teaching component is of the order of 30 minutes per day.
