What does your school offer our child

Marymount is a Catholic primary school from Prep to Year Six. The school’s population is approximately 1000 students.

As well as dedicated professional classroom teachers we also employ two full time teachers in our Learning Enhancement Centre, a PE specialist, a Music specialist, and a French specialist. The cost of these specialists is met through the school fees outlined below.

What are the school fees

These fees are inclusive of all excursions. Direct Debit facility is available. Fees are paid at the commencement of each term. These fees may change so contact the school office for further information.

What is the procedure for enrolling my child?

Yui are required to complete the Enrolment form on the school's website. Comprehensive Parent Information is available from this website under the Enrolment Tab. Please complete the enrolment form and return to the school with the following documentation (Birth certificate / Baptism certificate /  Immunisation record / Latest school report – if applicable) Please also include any other necessary documentation – medical reports / court orders etc. A non-refundable $50 application fee must accompany the application.

Does the school charge an enrolment fee / enrolment deposit?

Yes. There is a non refundable enrolment application fee of $50.00. If your child is accepted into the school we also ask new families for a holding deposit of $250 which is credited against the following year's First Term school fees.

Can Non-Catholic children enrol?

The school follows enrolment guidelines which are available to read on this web site in the enrolment section. The principal makes the final decision regarding all matters of enrolment.

Is your school a private / independent school?

No. Marymount is a Catholic primary school and is one of approximately 140 schools run by the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

What are your class sizes?

This varies from class to class but most classes are between 25 - 30 students per class.

Are the children taught another language other than English?

Yes. French. Years 4 -7

Does your school teach music?

Yes. We have a Prep -  Yr 2 music teacher (3 days) and a Yr 4 - 6 Music Teacher (2 days). We also have available at extra cost a school orchestral band and private tuition in Guitar, Keyboard, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.

What is your school uniform like?

The students have a compulsory dress uniform and sports uniform. Details of the uniform can be found under the Enrolment Tab - Uniform Shop.

Do you have a Prep Year?

Yes. We offer a Prep Year. The children attend full-time, 5 days per week. Parents are advised that the Prep year is not a compulsory year of schooling although most parents choose to send their children to Prep.

Do you have before and after school care?

Yes. Morning begins 7:00am – 8:30am. Afternoon begins 2.45pm – 6:00pm. Bookings can be made by phoning 0755 763756. We also have vacation care - 7:00am – 6:00pm. Pricing and further information is available under the Student Tab - OSHC.

Do you take overseas students?

No. Our school is not registered with the Commonwealth to enrol overseas students.

Do you have a support teacher?

Yes. The school has two full-time and one part-time Learning Support Teachers. They work in conjunction with the classroom teachers to assist in the holistic development of your child.

Does your school offer any extra curricula activities?

Yes. Speech & Drama / School Band / Performance Art classes / Art Classes / Tennis Classes. These classes are provided by external service providers and are not included in the school fees.

How much religion is taught within the curriculum?

Religion is taught both as a Key Learning Area and as an integral component of all school activities. The direct teaching component is of the order of 30 minutes per day.
